Ulster Leadership Development Institute

The Chamber Foundation’s Ulster Leadership Development Institute (Leadership Ulster) offers participants 18 intense, diverse exposure and interaction sessions with leaders from business, nonprofit and government within our region, all focused on developing advanced leadership understanding, capacity and significance. The program runs from September through June, includes a limited number of seats, selection process and tuition.

Contributors to Leadership Ulster have the option of designating all or a portion of their support to the Len Cane Memorial Scholarship Fund, which honors Mr. Cane’s many years of service to the Chamber during which time he established Leadership Ulster. Scholarship funds are used for individuals who demonstrate good leadership potential, but are not able to financially commit to all or a portion of the tuition cost. The Foundation Board and executive leadership select scholarship recipients via an application and review process.

Youth Leadership Ulster

The Chamber Foundation offers Youth Leadership Ulster in conjunction with 16 area high schools.

Our goal? To support the future of our local economy by providing meaningful, interactive experiences for students in 9th-12th grade who haven’t entered the workforce yet. Students participate in five sessions per semester which include such topics as leadership styles, goal setting, leadership ethics, and several major corporate tours.

The Foundation extends appreciation to Dr. Kristin Backhaus, Dean of the SUNY New Paltz School of Business, Dr. Jonah Schenker, Deputy Superintendent of the District and founder of the Hudson Valley Pathways Academy at BOCES, and Tina Dierna, MSW, Internship Coordinator at Kingston High School, for their collaborative efforts and persistent hard work in making this youth-focused leadership program a reality.

Mentorship Ulster

This program hosts speed mentoring events, and matches mentors with mentees to provide meaningful opportunities for growth via trust and honest dialogue.

There is no cost to all participants, thereby anyone can be involved as a mentor or mentee.

Our sponsorship packages come with many forms of recognition, tickets to our events and involvement in our programs, if you desire. Please contact the Chamber Foundation office at 845-338-5100, ext. 106, or email [email protected] – we can work together to tailor a sponsorship package that fits your needs.
