The Annual Youth Leadership Summit grew out of the Youth Leadership & Career Development Program which debuted in 2018 via grant support from Key Bank and the Klock Kingston Foundation. This one day summit is presented annually by members of the current Leadership Ulster cohort. A partnership with the YMCA of Kingston was established in 2023; and thanks to Calief Housen ’25, a partnership with local non-profit, Career in Touch, was initiated in 2025.
The Summit is open to students in grades 8-12 from all school districts in Ulster County. Programming introduces students to personal and professional development exercises, different leadership styles, activities to increase networking skills, the how-to’s of job applications and interviewing, and financial literacy.
The program is held annually during the spring semester. There is no charge to attend.
